A close friend of mine sent me this investment about casino junket financing that has a 50%(!!!) interest after 50 days. Seems to good to be true but he already tried it for 1 batch and he said it was legit. That batch only has 30% after 45 days, which is still very high. He also sent me the transaction dates for proof. I'm also sure that he won't make this up as I know him very well and we are very close. I searched for related info about casino junket financing and found out that they were mostly scam but none is about Genesis (name of the casino, I think). Here's an image for more details. BTW, he was only introduced to this by his roommate who was part of this for around 3 years. I'm not sure if I can trust his roommate but I can trust his judgment. Is there anyone here who has tried this before?
Going to Vegas on a casino junket, any tips on what to do? Bonus points for "non-Vegas type things"
I wanted to go somewhere hot with my girl for a few days, and the best deal I could find was a hotel air package to Vegas, it's hot and there's a pool and cheap drinks. Looking more for relaxing vacation than crazy Vegas trip. Any frugal ideas? Edit: I'm going carless Edit: Sorry for throwing up a question and abandoning it for a couple days, busy with work, I'm here now. Edit: Thanks for all the tips, leaving today Update: Just got back, unfortunately my traveling companion re-injured her foot, so no hiking at red rock, we went to circe du soleil (highly recomend, although you can easily get last minute tickets for far less than we paid) and the bodies exhibit (also recomend if you're interested in how you work, and not too sqeemish). We took public transit everywhere, you weren't kidding about the deuce (double decker strip bus) being slow, I'm sure you could out jog it all the way down the strip, but other than that it worked out well. If you buy your 24 hour pass on another bus, not the deuce it's $6 and good on all buses, but costs an extra $1/ ride on the deuce, or you can get 24 hours on just the deuce for $7. they don't seem to follow a schedule very well but all the routes we encountered were half hour frequency 24 hours a day. Be prepared for full buses, one route reminded me of a Mexican bus, without the chickens or crazy driving. If you go to Freemont and like free drinks go to Mermaids with a bag of nickels and play slots or video poker, we got a drink on the way in the door, and only once was my drink empty for more than a few minutes (and the waitress upon noticing this said "oh crap" and ran to the bar to get me another) several times I was brought another when still working on the last. I was surprised at the cost of the non-free drinks, $8 well drinks and beers were common, and most places (not mermaids) you have to put in some time at the slots for your freebies. If I go back I'd like to test the outside food and drink limits and bring a bottle of wine from the store. checked out the lobbies and the shows out front (mirage volcano show was my favorite). Also if you want a really good steak for less than some of the high end steakhouses (we spent ~$120 + tip for dinner desert and a bottle of wine for 2) I highly recommend The Steakhouse at Circus Circus, great steak, nice candlelight atmosphere, and our service was excellent, I've never been somewhere that pulled of the whole high end snooty thing but was still friendly and approachable, and the whole place as soon as you walk in smells like STEAK.

Help a brother out. Recently, I’ve seen my HS classmate/varsity teammate post an “ad” regarding a “company” he’s affiliated with. It’s a casino financing “company” which looks for potential investors that will fund their operations. In return, investors will get 3-5% interest for a year My question is this: is this a legit business or a scam? If legit, how will I know if casino financing companies are operating legally? Should they be registered with SEC/PAGCOGAAB? Also, how do they differ with casino junket operations? I find their “meetings” a bit sketchy because it doesn’t take place in an office; it usually happens on a restaurant.
SEC: 'King Perry' used Ponzi cash to live like royalty
This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 69%. (I'm a bot)
Perry Santillo masterminded a long-running investment scam that collected more than $115 million from 1,000 investors around the country, using some of the proceeds to fund a lavish lifestyle of cars, casino junkets and houses in multiple states, according to federal securities regulators. The Ponzi scheme eventually collapsed, and Santillo, of Rochester, New York, is likely to trade his fancy duds for prison attire when he is sentenced early next year on criminal conspiracy and fraud charges. Santillo pleaded guilty in federal court in Rochester, New York, last month, and is scheduled to appear in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on Monday to plead guilty to a related fraud count. Between 2008 and 2018, according to court documents, Santillo and his alleged conspirators coaxed clients to cash in their retirement accounts and invest in sham companies under their control, using the money from newer investors to repay earlier investors. Santillo stole at least $13.4 million, according to federal regulators, while co-defendants in an SEC civil action allegedly stole millions more. The Ponzi scheme returned nearly $45 million to investors, but nearly $71 million more is still owed, court documents said.

How has Dragon Token made use of funds raised in ICO?
While there are no signs of proper funds usage, we see many useless activities and misleading information put out by the Dragon Token team. Media like Instagram, Twitter and Telegram are used to post photos and comments on the game of Baccara, on cars racing events, on luxury resorts, suggesting that Dragon token is somehow involved in those, yet none of it is real. And what about the white paper promises? The issuer planned to: – Allocate a good part of the funds to casinos junkets. – Build the Dragon Pearl Hotel, which was meant to be the pivot of a successful hotel chain. – Develop all the banking infrastructure such as credit cards and ATM machines. Needless to say, nothing of the above has been even initiated. The Dragon Token website flashes sponsorships of Racing Cars teams and Veterans Associations, but while the amount of money spent on those is unknown, it is clear to us that none of these sponsorships produced any business return other than fulfilling co-founders passion for car racing and nostalgia of a past in the army. The Dragon website has the usual section: ”Our Partners”, and lists entities such as Ether and other common technologies foundations. This looks to us like a company bragging about a partnership with BMW and Microsoft just because they use their cars and software. Overall Dragon Token team has made no professional effort to develop the project and, sadly, investor’s funds are now left to Dragon Team's personal disposal.
